For the last few years, SOPFEU, the organization responsible for forest fire detection and suppression, has entrusted Grondair with aerial patrol.

Based at strategic airports in Quebec, such as Maniwaki, Val-d’Or and Matagami, Grondair’s Cessna’s 182’s patrol the skies of Quebec in order to aid in protecting our parks and wildlife against forest fires.

The Cessna 310’s based in Baie-Comeau and Roberval are used by the air attack officers, performing bird dog missions where forest fires have been detected.

Each year, Grondair hires several of its student pilots, who have acquires their shills with us, in order to fill these various positions.
